 Office Manager
Ruth has been our year-round office manger since 1993. She says that her priority is to make sure all families feel comfortable enrolling their children at camp. Yet we all know that she is and does much, much more than that.

 Summer Office
”This will be my 12th summer at North Shore. I love working here because it gives me an opportunity to be part of a fabulous summer for all the families. I’ve taught 4th grade and now Kindergarten for a New York City Public School in Kew Garden Hills. I serve on the Pupil Personnel Committee and am a Student Faculty Advisor. I am very involved with a competitive Marching Band of Roslyn High School and serve as Vice President of the Parent Support Group.”

 Summer Office, Parent Visits Coordinator
“This will be my 3rd summer at NSDC. I have two children here. As a former camper of NSDC, and sleepaway camper and counselor, I appreciate the beauty of camp every day. Returning to NSDC as a staff member brings me great pleasure seeing so many children having fun each day. I look forward to helping parents in any way I can to schedule your visits and making your visit a memorable time with your child.”

 Facility and Grounds Director
Manuel has been caring for our facility for the past 11 years. His skills and care have maintained for our campus the kind of beauty and warmth found in no other day camp.

"This is Susan’s 10th year at North Shore. She is a school nurse at Woodland Middle School in East Meadow. “I have been a nurse for over 30 years and my 20th summer as a camp nurse. Our office helps make sure that the fun time everyone has at camp is also a safe and healthy one”

"One of our three nurses, Carol is a School Nurse at the Boardman Elementary School in Oceanside. This is her 2nd year at NSDC. “I’m looking forward to more fun for Summer ‘08! Great staff, great kids!”

"Teresa is a Registered Nurse. This will be her second summer at NSDC as one of our three nurses. “I am looking forward to working with the campers, to help them have a safe and fun camping experience.”

 Program Director
"This is Lisa's 11th year here, starting as a counselor, and now in her 8th year as Program Director. "I have always had a love for camp… and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my summers…I feel the same way about camp today as I did when I was a child… I am looking forward to another fabulous summer at North Shore and my goal is to make this summers program the best one yet."

 Assistant Program Director
"Ray has been having fun for 11 years at NSDC. “During the year I work with children with autism at a Special Needs school in Syosset. Two years ago, I started a photography business that specializes in working with families who have children with autism and other special needs. My hope for the summer is that all campers have lifelong memories with lifelong friends just as I have made in my past summers.”

 Food Services Director
"Irene holds the record for longevity at NSDC; 20 years. During the year she is the Manager/Chef for the Locust Valley High School and Middle School. She and her staff work hard preparing and serving the freshest and healthiest meals in day camping.

 Security Officer
This summer marks Steve’s 8th year at NSDC and we’re so glad to have him with us. The friendly and efficient manner in which he greets you at our gates has certainly made all visitors feel welcome. During the year he works for security at a Nassau County School District. “Have a good day and ‘let’s be careful out there’.”
