Dear North Shore Day Camp Families,

Each summer I’m amazed at how much can happen in just one summer. Campers and counselors walk in on the first day filled with anticipation, excitement, optimism, and sometimes just a little bit of nervousness. Over the course of just one summer confidence is built, skills are learned and honed, resilience is practiced, laughter resounds, lasting friendships are made and fostered, and what was just a “place”, becomes a home away from home.

This summer was filled with so many wonderful events. Our Stepping Stones loved coming into camp on Monday mornings eager to see what the TGIM (Thank Goodness It’s Monday) of the week would be. The highlights were the Character Breakfast, Olympics, Eric’s Edventures and the best was the Stepping Stones Talent Show!  Clubs were fantastic this summer. Campers in 1st grade and up were able to select from about 50 different clubs over the course of the summer. Our Show Club’s production of Glee was just incredible! How our campers and staff were able to put together such a professional performance in just 6 weeks is amazing. League really showed campers the value of both sport skill and sportsmanship. Our weekly special events and Friday assemblies were always something wonderful to look forward to. We just loved Camplified, dress up days, Carnival, and probably the most fun special event of all was Decades Day!  Trips for our oldest campers truly enriched their summer experience.

Last but certainly not least, Triathlon was the culminating event that displayed all of what North Shore Day Camp is all about; a spirited, caring, supportive community of friends who understand the value of healthy competition, but also appreciate their entire Blue and Gold North Shore Day Camp family above all is better than the win!

I thank the campers and staff – all who have helped to make the summer of 2012 so spectacular! It was a pleasure to share these very special days with you. I also want to thank our camp parents for entrusting their children to us. I hope we’ve made a positive difference in their lives. I know they’ve made a positive difference in mine!

Have a wonderful year and I hope to see all of you next summer!

Sincerely,
Paula
