Turning Back the Hands of Time on Decades Day
Turn back the hands of time – back to the 1950’s, 1960’s and beyond as everyone here at camp rocks around the clock on Decades Day!
Our Stepping Stones went all the waaaaaaay back – Back to the Stone Ages! (How appropriate for our Stepping STONES, right?) The Flintstones have nothing on them! 🙂 They made their own costumes in Arts & Crafts, painted stone art, went on an archeological dig and made necklaces from the “bones” that they discovered!
Our 1st and 2nd graders dressed from the 1950’s. They were dressed from head to toe looking like they just walked out of some of our favorite old-time TV shows like Happy Days, Grease, and Laverne & Shirley! They played typical games from the 1950’s including stickball, jacks, four square and jump rope.
Our 3rd-6th graders arrived right off the 1960’s bus sporting only the best tie-dye patterns, BIG – BIG hair and head-bands! They were divided up into board game teams where they had an opening pep rally, made game flags (Candyland, Shutes and Ladders, …etc.) and played a series of relay style activities.
Everyone had a groovy time here at camp on Decades Day! Peace!
