On the Road Again!!

One of the most exciting features of our 5/6th & Voyager program is TRIP DAY!

Our campers cannot wait ‘til they “come of age” and are able to join these divisions just for this reason!
So where are they off to this summer?

This is truly an exciting time for our 5th graders as this marks the beginning of their travel experiences with NSDC. The 5/6th graders’ itinerary is made up of day trips (Wednesdays), however their day at Splish Splash ends with a sleep over here at camp! The campers just love this perfect ending to a perfect trip day! They will be enjoying many of the same favorites as the Voyagers and some other places as well. Along with Splish Splash they will be visiting Dave & Busters, party boat fishing on the L.I. Sound, Cradle of Aviation Museum, Adventureland and an afternoon Mets game @ Citi Field . The campers end their travel season with a “Mystery Bash”. Shhhh!! it’s a secret! They don’t find out where they are going until they get there!

The Voyager trip schedule is made up of day trips (Tuesdays & Thursdays) and two 4 day/overnight trips. The exciting places they will be visiting during the camp days are: Dave & Busters, Active Kidz-LI, Museum of the Moving Image, Splish Splash, Canoeing on the Nissequogue River in Smithtown, Mets game @ Citi Field, Adventureland, and Jones Beach. These are true favorites of our campers!

We kick up the Voyager travel program a notch by adding two overnight trips to their program. This year in July the Voyagers will be heading to the “sweet” city of Hershey & Lancaster, PA. There is a full itinerary of day and evening activities planned. Of course a visit to Hershey Park and to Chocolate World, where each camper will make their own chocolate bar, is a MUST!

The August overnight trip takes the Voyagers to the Villa Roma located in New York’s beautiful Catskill Mountains. Here the campers will spend 4 days enjoying all of the indoor & outdoor activities the hotel has to offer. Swimming (indoor & outdoor pools available), tennis, Go Karts, bumper boats, bowling parties, evening BBQ’s are just a few of the activities and events they can look forward to. It will be fun to dine in the main dining room of the hotel as well!

Traveling by day or sleeping out in hotels, either way, NSDC’s Trip program really rocks!
